Hand & Wrist,

Upper Limb

Hand and wrist complaints are extremely common in New Zealand. We frequently see significant trauma through the public hospital. In the Wairarapa acute significant hand injuries, particularly those with tendon involvement will be seen by the Plastic Surgical Department in Lower Hutt. There are however, frequently sub-acute problems or post operative issues that require further management. I have fellowship experience of managing both the acute and chronic hand/wrist complaints. Common problems are Carpal tunnel syndrome, Cubital tunnel syndrome, arthritis, instability. These can be managed both surgically and non-operatively.
